Folklorico Tutorial - El Gusto

Hello Teachers and Dancers!

Welcome to my Folklorico Tutorial for “El Gusto.” I’m very excited to be sharing this tutorial with all of you because it’s one of my absolute favorite sones of all time. I learned this song from Maestro Miguel Angel Diaz when I was 12 years old.

At the age of 15, Maestros Miguel Angel Diaz and Nati Cano gave me the opportunity to dance at the historic La Fonda de Los Camperos, where I’d perform “El Gusto” on a weekly basis with Mariachi Los Camperos. I’m proud to say that this is the same version that was danced in Linda Ronstadt’s Canciones de Mi Padre Concerts by La Fonda Dancers in the 80’s. It makes my heart happy to pass this song to the next generation.
