Hello Dancers and Teachers!

Welcome back! I’m so happy to be sharing the second part to my El Zapateado Veracruzano Folklorico Tutorial Series. This tutorial is for advanced dancers and teachers who want to challenge themselves and/or their students. In this series I will do my best to break down all the sequences so that you can come up with your own version of “El Zapateado.” You’re free to dance it with or without music. Keep in mind that dancers tend to speed up the rhythm when they don’t have music to follow. A good way to prevent that from happening is by using a metronome to keep the tempo steady while rehearsing. Before you begin this tutorial, make sure that you’ve mastered PART 1 and my previous tutorials that have the Basic Steps for Veracruz Sotavento ; especially my tutorial that breaks down “El Guachapeado.” I will post these tutorials below in case you’re having a hard time finding them. I went a little faster in Part 2, so If you have any questions, please comment below. Don’t forget to share this tutorial with your friends and students.

Good Luck!

Maestra Kareli
